As part of the programming that went along with the residency, I held a series of workshops on Mending and Radical Embellishment. We found that these kinds of DIY ideas of empowering the self to self-sufficiency have a lot of cross over into other areas of interest, such as the DIY beer and puppet communities. Overall, we held 4 workshops on mending and embellishment and hosted 5 open project nights where people could come and learn to fix specific things/bring projects to craft on in the gallery.
