Image of oil spill on water, woven with bright colors and undulating watery patterns

The second work in my oil spill series. These images utilize moving, undulating patterning in addition to wove inlay to mimic the iridescence of an oil slick on the surface of the water. Each is named in reference to a historic oil spill.

As this work continues, woven iridescence will be added to the mix. The question I want to attempt to answer is a nod to disaster environmentalism and the de-regulation of industry as it pertains to the Gulf of America…. Can the Gulf of America catch on fire in the same manner as Lake Erie?
