Many Moons
The Polished Mirror, a depiction of the Moon borrowed from Sufi philosophy, speaks to the moon and its transient nature as a reflection of the shifting face of man. In this work, the "moon" and the "sun" are balanced upon one another, shining, the same but separate self. The vintage coverlet patterns, from the Shuttle-Craft Book of American Hand Weaving, ripple and echo with topsy-turvy movement.
