This body of work skirts the line between politics and poetics surrounding water-based environmental issues. With this, beauty functions as a tool of activism, for these weavings dig deeply into the beauty found in the abject spaces of global pollution and environmental catastrophe. This work blurs the lines between the physical and the digital through the back-and-forth of moving between old and new weaving technology, specifically siting ‘glitch’ in the woven matrix as a site for rupture, for change—a generative space for the creation of new futures.
